LEGO Batman Movie Teaser Trailer, My Thoughts

When it was released, The LEGO Movie was given a surprising amount of fan and critical praise. So much so, that there was outrage over it not getting any nominations for an Oscar.

It was announced that the film would get a spinoff focusing on one of the characters of the movie. Which one? Would we see a prequel depicting the younger years of Vitruvius? An origin story for Wyldstyle? An exploration of how President Business came to power? Nope! It's a spinoff focusing on Batman.

Is it weird that this trailer for this movie got me more hyped than the Batman v Superman trailers did? I mean, this teaser is just literally Batman coming home from fighting crime and microwaving some lobster for dinner. The BvS trailer hyped up this idea of two of DC Comics's biggest icons facing off. This one is just Batman coming home and microwaving some dinner.

And yet...this one gets me more excited and I want to see this film more. I don't know. This was a funny little teaser, and it was just fun to watch. Yeah, I think that's it. It was fun. And it was bright and colorful. I get the feeling this Lego Batman movie is going to be quite a fun movie to watch.

The minds behind the LEGO Movie are making this, so I do think it'll be a fun, yet deep story. And the voice cast is really neat. Ralph Fiennes, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Michael Cera...got some good actors here! The idea of Mariah Carey voicing Gotham's mayor makes me chuckle.  I hope we get cameos from the LEGO Movie gang, because I'd love to see what they got up to after the events of that movie.

Anyway, I'm sure this movie will be a lot of fun. Can't wait for 2017!

Falcon #3 (January 1984)

Hello, and we're back to reviewing the Falcon's 1980s mini-series. I have previously reviewed issues one and two, and now we're going to look at issue three! So far, the mini-series has been pretty good. The first issue was merely okay, but the second was a more fun read. Hopefully, the third issue is a real charm.

The cover is an interesting one, if a bit generic. It's a close-up of the Falcon's face, with Redwing on his shoulder. It's well-drawn, and it's an attention getter.

"Faith!"
Writer: Jim Owsley
Pencils: Mark Bright
Inks: Mike Gustovich
Letters: Rick Parker
Colors: Stephen Mellor
Editor: Larry Hama
Editor-In-Chief: Jim Shooter

The issue starts out with an awesome full page-spread of the Falcon and Redwing flying through a city in flames.

"I've heard of a hot time in the city, but this is ridiculous!"
The city is in flames, and Sam has been working hard to help how he can. He thinks the fires may have been started by The Legion, the gang whose march turned into a riot thanks to a dumb cop. Sam is getting people out of burning buildings, and hears that there is an old man who is trying to save the items from his store as it is burning.

Sam bursts in and saves the old man, and in true action film style, the store blows up.

"I wish I could think up a cool store-related pun right now."
Meanwhile, a mysterious tenant is watching Sam and thinks the avian-themed hero has discovered he is in the area. It's revealed to be Max Dillon, aka Electro, one of Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery.

"Curse you, Falcon! Even though I gave you no indication I was here!"
He was laying low waiting to make his big comeback, but the paranoid elctrokinetic thinks Falcon may be somehow on to him...even though he has done nothing to get Sam's attention.

Sam finally returns home after a long day, only to find Sgt. Tork waiting for him and a pair of tied-up Legionnaires.

"Tork, you are into some weird stuff, man."
Tork explains he caught them about to graffiti Sam's home, and suggests giving them a beating. Sam refuses and unties the kids, saying that he has never been unfair with the kids, but the Legionnaires kick Sam and Tork and flee. However, Sam suits up and catches up with them, saying he wants to talk. Tork also catches up...with a shotgun, enraged that the kids hit them.

Sam implores Tork to back off. However, Tork pushes a button, saying that Falcon is so forgiving towards others because he never forgave himself for his days as drug dealer "Snap" Wilson. He then tells Sam he himself has a job to do, too.

"One day, Rick Remender will retcon all this 'Snap' stuff away..."
The next day, it's revealed that the President is coming to Harlem for a "fact-finding" mission. One person snidely remarks it's a "vote-finding" mission. Ha! Meanwhile, Falcon is visiting the storeowner he rescued, wanting to cheer him up a bit after losing everything. He finds that the storeowner, Mr. Brown, has fled his room, and is on the ledge outside.

Sam takes off his wings and joins him. Mr. Brown explains that he literally has nothing left thanks to the fires destroying his store. Sam sympathizes, talking about how he went bad and became "Snap" after his parents died, and his encounter with the Cosmic Cube that changed him. He tells him that he sometimes doesn't know who he is, but he continues his life on, because he can't give up. The pep talk helps, and Mr. Brown goes back inside.

Max Dillon watches this, and is convinced Falcon and SHIELD set it up in an attempt to draw him out. He vows to take the Flacon out next time they cross paths. Electro needs to calm his butt down.

Meanwhile, the President's little "fact-finding" tour is in full swing...in the form of his being driven through town in the Presidential limo. The signal is given, and the Legion attacks.

"It's Michael Bay time!"
The Legion attack, and in the confusion, they manage to kidnap the President. Yeah. A street gang managed to get past the Secret Service. Yup. Not surprising, this is the same people that couldn't catch a couple gatecrashers at a Presidential party. Falcon flies in, and figures the Legion managed to escape through the sewers...even though they could've used the alleys to escape, considering we can assume the Legion knows the neighborhood like the back of their hands. Falcon gets blasted, and Electro reveals himself.

"I know how to make a SHOCKING entrance!"
You know, I LOVE Electro's classic costume.  I do get it would look silly in live-action, but I would love to see this suit back in cartoons and comics. They fight, but Falcon realizes that as long as he stays in the air, Electro's blasts can't hurt him because he's not grounded. Yeah, I don't think that's how it works.

Falcon realizes he has n time to fight Electro and flies off...you'd think that he'd just knock the guy out first before leaving, but luckily a Secret Service agent is there. Did Falcon know that guy was there? Falcon flies to an old dead factory which the Legion uses as a stronghold.

Back at the Precinct, Tork realizes something isn't quite right. He goes up to a couple of young gang members who look like much older men due to the art, and realizes that they were not at Sam's apartment to steal his TV, but to give Sam info to set him up for a hit. Wait, Tork caught them graffiting Sam's home. Why is saying they were after his TV? The gang members defiantly remind Tork that they are underage, as such, they don't have to talk to him.

Tork decides to take a page from Dirty Harry. He tears up the boys' arrest reports and "suggests" that they "accidentally" fall down some stairs and break their legs. They spill the beans, and Tork realizes that the Legion intend to kill Sam. Back at the factory, Sam tries to talk to the Legion, but they're more interested in trying to shoot him. Electro also shows up, and they fight. You'd think that the Legion would want to still try and shoot Falcon while he's distracted, but I'm assuming they can't get a bead on him because of how he's moving.

"Falcon PAWNCH!"
Electro is able to beat Falcon, but he feels the effects of Falcon's punches and goes down himself.

"I won! I won...I go nappy time now..."
The issue ends with a man visiting Sgt. Tork. Who is that man? Why, it's the Star-Spangled Man With A Plan, the Sentinel of Liberty, Captain America!

"I'm here to deliver some FREEDOM and JUSTICE!"
This issue was...not that bad. I loved the idea of Falcon battling Electro. I also liked the scene with Falcon comforting Mr. Brown and convincing him not to take his own life. I thought that also helped show what kind of man Sam Wilson is, he isn't someone who just punches criminals, he wants to bring a little hope to people in an area this is depicted as needing some. It thought that was a nice scene. Captain America's appearance in the end was a nice surprise, but I wonder how he knew Falcon needed some help. Wait, did he hear about the riots on the news? Maybe the next issue will reveal that.

I thought the story itself was...okay. It wasn't bad, and I honestly can't think of much else to say about it, really. Mark Bright's pencils are pretty good. The battle with Electro was good, but I feel somewhat the he was thrown in a little bit to bring some superhero action into the mini, even though we already got some with Falcon fighting the messed up Sentinel.

My one major complaint with this story is something that I've had an issue with this entire mini so far: There's no over-arcing story. If Electro was the main villain of the mini, then his appearance would have a point. But still the issue wasn't ruined for me. It's a good issue with good artwork, and it's cool seeing Captain America make an appearance, considering his connections to Falcon. I hope the final issue makes one fun team-up!

LEGO Star Wars: TFA Gameplay Trailer, My Thoughts

Recently, Traveller's Tales released a new trailer for their latest LEGO game: Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I was immediately curious about this game as, well, I love the Lego games, and I loved The Force Awakens, so I decided to give it a looksee. The trailer is about the gameplay.

Like Lego games past, the game has lots of humor. Traditionally, these games adapt movies, but just add more silliness. It's always fun seeing what they do with their adaptations. I loved seeing the stormtroopers playing golf.

One thing your characters can do now in the game is during firefights, you can actually take cover. My guess is this game is going to have more levels where there will be shooting and firefights, which does makes sense. It IS a Star Wars game after all, and we are dealing with the Resistance vs. the First Order here. It does provide a nice way of diversifying the usual gameplay style. I can't help but wonder, though. Is this feature only usable by characters that use blasters? I imagine it would be, as Jedi characters could just simply Force-reflect blaster shots back at the shooter.

I love the idea of having multiple options for devices to build to solve a puzzle. Such a concept can really help increase the replayability of the game as it allows you to, in a small way, do something a little different on each playthrough. And the idea of distracting stormtroopers with a big pile of popcorn is utterly hilarious.

Another thing the game's trailer says that it expands on the story of the film, like how Han and Chewie managed to recapture the monster, where the heck Poe Dameron went for most of the movie, and from what I heard, it may even fill in some of the gap between Return of the Jedi and Force Awakens. I actually really like this idea. It helps this game bring something new to the table, and I can imagine the people coming up with the gags had some very fertile ground to work in.

All in all, I do like the innovations that are coming to this game. I do like that Traveller's Tales is making an effort to shake things up to keep things from going stale. I can't wait for this to come out. I need some games for my new Wii U. I also want to get Lego Marvel's Avengers. The demo was so much fun.

Pokemon Insurgence Part 1: We Gotta Get Out of This Place

Thanks to Linkara, I had learned of a fan game known as Pokémon Omicron. I downloaded it and it was a fun game to play. The creator of it is also working on a follow-up to Omicron and its twin game, Zeta. That game is called...Pokémon Insurgence.

First of all, I wish to apologize for the lack of sound in this video. I did record an audio commentary for this video, but I couldn't find it. I think it may have ended up lost somehow. A real shame, as I had a lot of fun recording it for this video. This is also the first YouTube video I have ever put up.

This fan-made game is set in the Torren region. This region is different from others in that its regular threat is not Pokémon-stealing teams like Team Rocket in the original games, but cults that worship legendary Pokémon. They are everywhere, making trouble.

The game also has an option of playing through it on a "Lighter" or "Darker" mode. The difference is really that some story elements, like character deaths, are toned down in the "Lighter" mode. I played that mode because I wanted Insurgence to feel a bit more like the "official" games. But kudos MUST be given to the creators for the option.

The game begins with a flashback to what looks like a press conference of some kind. It is of a man announcing that the Augur, the one who has protected Torren from the cults, has essentially decided to retire, and the man, Jaern of Gaea Town, is going to be the new Augur. How does that work? Was he like the Vice Augur, or was he a hand-picked successor? I guess we'll find out.

I have to admit, I loved that the creators went to the effort to allow you some customization of your player character, much like in X and Y. It helps you immerse yourself in this game, and make you feel like you are part of that world.

The game starts in a rather unusual way...instead of a Professor welcoming you to Torren, you start on some creepy purple screen with a spotlight on nothing and Gengar's eyes in the background. A mysterious voice tells you that you are in an awkward situation (game's words), and if you can remember your name, gender, and appearance. The voice said it is sending someone to get me out of...this place...and I need to WAKE UP!

I woke up in some underground compound being monitored by Darkrai cultists. I have listened to the music here, and it is appropriate for this place. It's creepy and haunting. Yeah, I am not in any "official" region anymore. Long story short, I'm being held in a place run by Persephone and her Darkrai cult, and she's afraid of me for some reason, A Gengar is there to screw with my head, and I managed to escape with the help of Mew.

I got to witness Persephone summon Darkrai. And it worked. She had seen it before last year, and they did something together. Then the Pokémon went off to find her sister. Persephone was unhappy with this. Somebody is jealous...

She wants to do the whole take over the world thing with Darkrai, but Darkrai's like, "Nah, got better things to do", and leaves before she can catch it. With that failed, she decides to check on me. Time to leave!

I arrive in the Shade Forest, and then come to Telnor Town. Upon arrival, Mew gives me a flute and a note. The flute is a Quartz Flute, which can be used to summon Mew. That's nice.

A boy named Damian meets me upon arrival and asks me to help him run some errands. The Augur is coming to town, and everyone's in a tizzy! After meeting Damian's parents, they ask me to go with him to help him find a gift for the Augur. Sure, why not? It's not like there's a Darkrai Cult after me. Which makes me wonder, shouldn't Persephone have sent her Darkrai-worshipping minions after me yet? She must've gotten lost on the way to my old chamber, and nobody's willing to help her find it.

Anyway, I'm off to meet the Professor and get my Eevee! Wish me luck! Sorry about the lack of audio again!

Kung Fury Review

About nine months ago, a crowd-funded short film premiered and became a massive viral hit. The film was called Kung Fury.

The film would also be released on VOD and YouTube.

When I first heard about this, I was so hyped. A short film homage to the 1980s? As someone who loves the 80s, I had to check this out.

The film focuses on a cop in 1980s Miami known as Kung Fury, a police officer who fights crime with super-human level skills in martial arts. He finds himself having to battle Adolf Hitler, aka Kung Fuhrer, who had managed to come to 1980s Miami to rule the world. In an attempt to kill Hitler in Nazi Germany, Kung Fury accidentally gets knocked back to the Viking Age, where he finds allies in a pair of gun-toting Valkyries and the Norse God Thor.

There is only one world that I can use to describe this film: Insane. This film is utterly insane. In a very good way. It's a fun ride in a world where everything goes by two rules: the Rule of Cool and the Rule of Funny. The film is mostly done in CGI, but it has the look of  a worn VHS played on an old VCR, which really helps add on to the 1980s feel of the film.

David Sandberg (who also wrote and directed the film) is in the title role, and he plays Kung Fury as a man who is very flat emotionally, but it's intentional. It's funny.

It's a great little short film, and if you have a half-hour to kill and want to spend it watching a fun action film with laughs and an awesome soundtrack, check this film out. You won't regret it. And in even better news, Sandberg is working on a feature-length version of the film, so that'll be something exciting to see.

New Captain America: Civil War Trailer: My Thoughts

It has finally come. The new Captain America: Civil War trailer has arrived.

I have to admit, I was surprised to see the trailer drop today. I didn't expect it at all. It was a blast to watch from beginning to end. When it comes to the comic book mini-series, I think it was kinda...bleh. I clearly do think the movie will handle it a lot better.

One of the focal points of this film will seem to be the relationship between Cap and Iron Man, which makes sense. Over the last two Avengers film, we've seen that the two can work together and be civil, but they don't always see eye-to-eye. It's appropriate that the "Accords of Sokovia" would cause their tensions to boil over, in addition to Cap's fears of government overreach thanks to the events of Winter Soldier, and Tony's guilt over the creation of Ultron in Age of Ultron.

One thing I am hoping for is that both sides are portrayed as having good and understandable points. Both Cap and Tony have sympathetic reasons and their stands make sense. I hope that is kept in mind.

The trailer is action-packed, but that is the order of the day for these kind of trailers. The action moments we do get are awesome, though. I loved seeing Black Panther go after Bucky on the motorcycle and his suit shrugging off bullets like it was nothing. Gotta love that Vibranium! And Panther seems to be going after Bucky a lot in the trailers.

My guess is Bucky did something in Wakanda during his time being mind-controlled by HYDRA, and the Black Panther wants to bring him to justice. That would tie in with the whole "superheroes need a check" thing, and helps reinforces Cap's decision to stand against the "accords", as the Registration Act is called.

I hope Rhodey isn't dead. I really hope he isn't.

One thing I loved was that we got to see some many heroes doing awesome things. Black Widow laying smackdowns, Bucky trying to shoot Tony in the face, only to be wearing bulletproof glasses, Ant-Man riding on one of Hawkeye's arrows, Scarlet Witch incapacitating the Vision and later ROCKETING INTO THE AIR, and the coolest part?

The two factions of heroes charging at each other in the airport. Yeah, I'm sure some will nitpick that, but hey, Rule of Cool and all.

But let's talk about the moment the Internet went CRAZY:

"...Hey, everyone."
Yup! Spider-Man is making his MCU debut, and I absolutely LOVE how he looks. His costume is fantastic, and I actually do like the expressive eyes. He looks like he was drawn by John Romita Sr., which I really love, because he drew a FANTASTIC Spidey.

I am so hyped for this movie. I can't wait to see it!

My 10 Favorite Gen 1 Pokemon.

My belated little way to celebrate Pokémon Day, I thought it would be neat to talk about my favorite Pokémon from the first generation of Pokémon games (Red, Blue, and Yellow). It's a list of my ten favorites, and it's not in any particular order.

I have been a Pokémon fan since the original Red and Blue days, and I was happy to see them come to the 3DS Virtual Console. However, I do hope they do 20th Anniversary remakes of them, as being able to go to Kanto with all the features of modern Pokémon games would make them much more accessible to new fans, and fix the original games' few flaws.

Anyway, on with the list.

Articuno

I thought this Pokémon was awesome alone simply because of its looks. It's a big blue bird with ice powers. When I was a kid, I wanted to catch the Articuno so badly, and it was a fun addition to my team for a while. It didn't end up on my final team that I used to beat Red, but it was fun to have, and I still think highly of Articuno.

Zapdos

Another one of the original Legendary Birds, this one is my absolute favorite of them. It was big, yellow, pointy, and it allowed me to have two things I wanted on my team at once: An Electric type, and a flier. It was a powerhouse, and it helped me beat the Red Version. Everything about Zapdos to me is cool, its look, its name, its ability to bring the electrical pain. And in case you're wondering, I have nothing against Moltres. It's just I think Articuno and Zapdos are cooler.

Golem

This one is one of my favorite Pokémon because like Articuno, it was cool-looking, and like Zapdos, it was a tank. In fact, in my Pokémon team in Red, Golem was my tank. It wasn't fast, but it could take a beating (Well, except against Water and Grass, but that's to be expected), and hand out a beating to opponents. Like Zapdos, a Golem was on the team I used to win Red. Golem rocks, pun semi-intended.

Blastoise

The fully evolved form of Squirtle, I love this guy. How can you not? It's a big blue tortoise with a shell that has giant cannons in it! To me, Blastoise is the best Water Pokémon. Like Golem, Blastoise is a tank. Its water cannons could punch a hole in concrete, and its shell is like armor. And its Mega Evolution is even cooler, with more deluging firepower. To me, if you want a Water Pokémon, you call on the Squirtle line.

Venusaur

Like Blastoise, Venusaur is a fully-evolved form of a starter Pokémon: Bulbasaur. I have to admit, this Pokémon and the rest of its line. It's a plant-dinosaur/frog hybrid thing. It had a bulb that became a bud and then a full-fledged beautiful flower. It was a rather fascinating Pokémon line to me, and it was a big help in beating the first two Gyms, which was why I chose it. It also could learn a variety of useful attacks. I especially liked using my Venusaur to wear opponent Pokémon down.

Charizard

Charizard is a popular and iconic Pokémon. Why? Because for all intents and purposes, it's a dragon. And dragons are awesome. The fully evolved form of the Fire starter Charmander, Charizard is a powerhouse Pokémon, fast and hardhitting. The anime portrayed as a tough wild Pokémon that Ash had to struggle to win the respect of, and it has become another mascot of the Pokémon series in a way. It has appeared in numerous other games, and is the only Kanto starter to get TWO Mega Evolutions. Charizard is a Pokémon that rocks. Any Trainer that uses one, I immediately bow in reverence.

Alakazam

Let's be honest with ourselves, back in the Gen 1 days, Psychic was overpowered. There were very few Bug and Ghost Pokémon or attacks to counter them, so Sabrina was a nightmare to beat. I remember having to evolve my Eevee into a Jolteon and raise it until it learned Pin Missile to beat her and get the Marsh Badge. Alakazam, like Golem, was one of those Pokémon you could only get by trade evolution. To me, if you want a Gen 1 Psychic on your team, you go with this Pokémon. Sure, Abra is a nightmare to catch and harder to raise, but Alakazam is worth it. And even in modern Gens, Alakazam still

Starmie

I will admit, I never really used a Starmie on any of my teams. I do have a Staryu on my team in the fan game Pokémon Insurgence, though. Why do I like this one? Well, to be honest, it was its looks. It looked like two purple starfish fused together with a big jewel in the center. It can also learn a wide variety of attacks, so it makes itself very useful.

Butterfree

I love Butterfree. It was such a handy Pokémon that one could obtain early on in the game, because Caterpie was one of the first Pokémon a starting Trainer in Kanto could catch. I love this Pokémon so much that I use one in my team in Pokémon X. Yup. Why do I love this one. Mainly because it can learn such a variety of great attacks. Sleep Powder is very helpful for catching Pokémon, and attacks like Psybeam and Poison Powder are great for helping wear opponents down and do damage.

Pikachu

Yes, of course, the mascot of the first Gen had to make this list. And why not? Pikachu is THE face of the Pokémon franchise, appearing in just about every Pokémon game. He can't take a hit too well, but the little electric mouse is speedy, and can learn some good attacks.

And this is my list of my ten favorite Gen 1 Pokémon! I'd love to hear about yours!

New Star Fox Zero Trailer, My Thoughts

Nintendo put out a new Direct, and the Direct included a trailer for a game that I was very excited for: Star Fox Zero.

I have given my thoughts on the announcement for the game previously, which did include an E3 trailer, but a NEW trailer has just dropped for this game.

I have to admit, this trailer got me so excited. The first thing I saw was that the space combat felt like classic Star Fox. It felt like Star Fox 64 on steroids. Star Fox 64 was one of my FAVORITE N64 games. I had played and beaten it several times, and loved every second of it.

When I saw the Landmaster return, I was overjoyed. I also hope we get to see the Blue Marine, the submarine Star Fox used in Star Fox 64, make its return as well. And for more than one level. As I had noted in my previous blog entry for this game, the Arwings can now turn into a walker mode, like they could in the cancelled Star Fox 2 for the SNES.

It was also neat to see Katt Monroe make her return. Also, the return of Star Wolf! Can't wait to take those guys on again. I wonder what the roster will be in this game, as Assault showed Andrew Oikonny got kicked out, and Pigma Dengar was assimilated by the Apaaroids. Since there are three Wolfen craft seen in the trailer, I'm assuming the roster is Wolf O'Donnell, Leon Powalski, and Panther Caroso.

The trailer reveals that there will be a co-op feature for the Arwings, which I think may mean one player flies the Arwing while the other mans the guns, so to speak. The trailer also shows that like in 64, alternate paths could be taken on some levels. Evidently, portals will be involved. Great way to increase the replay value.

We also see some usage of drones, probably for more subtle stealth-type missions. I wonder what circumstances will require those being used.

And the trailer ends with Arwing flying, some cool-looking possible bosses, a Star Destroyer exploding, and the title with Peppy yelling for a barrel roll.

I was looking forward to this game when it was first announced, and I am more excited for it now than ever. It looks like it will be awesome. I imagine I'll probably be playing this as much as I played Star Fox 64 back in the day! Awesome!

Ghostbusters Trailer, My Thoughts

It's been known that a reboot film of the Ghostbusters franchise has been in the works. I gave my thoughts on the announcement of that already, so when I found out the trailer had dropped, I decided to give it a watch.

One of the first things I noticed was that the trailer said that four scientists saved New York thirty years ago. That made me scratch my head. Was this a sequel after all? Why would the trailer allude to the original four if this was a reboot? My confusion was furthered by the Wikipedia entry for the film, but since the cameo roles were unsourced, I decided to take it with a grain of salt.

The second thing I noticed was that we see three of the new Ghostbusters encountering a ghost in what looked like someone's private library. In case you didn't know, in the original film, the first real spectre the original Ghostbusters encountered was a female ghost in a public library. And it vomited on one of them. Okay.

Seeing Leslie Jones's scenes as Patty Tolan did concern me a bit. One thing I worried about with this film was that the new characters would not be unique characters in their own right, just simply the original four only female. To me, Tolan just seemed to be a female Winston Zeddemore. It made me sigh a bit. Come on, scriptwriters! You can do better than that! I get the concept of the archetype, but come on!

I did like seeing Slimer again. It was nice seeing him. And as for the new Ghostbusters' suits, I do like them. I know some people like to mock the orange and silver stripes, but they're meant to be reflective safety strips, like those worn by firefighters on their jacket, I think that's a nice touch. It's a clever idea. And the remix of the Ghostbusters theme was really good, I want that on my iPod.

I have to admit, the tech and effects were AWESOME. Seeing all the various ghosts flying around, and the one with the really long legs, that was so cool! And their proton packs?! I LOVE their proton guns! Melissa McCarthy's character appeared to have a glove that allowed her TO GIVE GHOSTS PHOTON-POWERED PUNCHES. THAT ROCKED! I get the feeling I will LOVE the final battle!

And I will admit, the bit at the end with Patty Tolan smacking the ghost out of Melissa McCarthy was funny. I laughed at that.

Do I honestly think it will be better than the original. Well, no, but really not by any fault of its own. The original film is considered a comedic classic and a must-watch film. Heck, it was added to the National Film Registry, because it is considered "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". That's right. This film was considered of preservation by the National Film Registry. How on Earth could anything follow THAT?! Even the original sequel (which I quite enjoy), was considered terrible in comparison.

I think at the very least, this will be a fun "turn-off-your-brain-and-enjoy" flick. I'll give it a look. To all those people who scream that this ruined their childhoods, or this was an unnecessary thing, I say this: Just calm down. The original films and cartoons still exist.

If you want new adventures with the old team, IDW is doing COMICS with the original four Ghostbusters. In fact, they recently met the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a rather fun crossover, pick up the trade if you see it. And nobody is going to be FORCING you to watch this movie. If it really bothers you that much, just don't talk about it and don't go see it. Plain and simple. This film is not going to ruin your life, and your childhood is far from ruined.

March is Here!

March is here! The first month of spring, and college basketball fans are getting ready for March Madness!

Hope this month is a good one. Winter may finally give way to spring, so that is something to look forward to. Can't wait for the first day of it!
